Parents/carers we need you...

Date: 15th Mar 2022 @ 1:48pm

Dear Parent/Carer,

Parental feedback and input into our academies continue to be of great importance to the Harmony Trust.  We believe that parents can help us shape our strategies, address challenges, and share successes.

Alongside our parent forums, we are looking for parents to help our research team evaluate the impact of Trust-wide projects on them and their children.  To ensure we can monitor changes over time, ideally we would like the same parents to respond each time.  If possible, we are asking that parents to sign up to answer these surveys 3 to 4 times per year.

Our first project is to look at the impact of the 1-2-1 devices (iPads for all KS2 children) on children and their families through our Harnessing Technology Maximising Learning (HTML) strategy.

The surveys will take around 10/15 minutes to fill in.  They will help us identify any changes we need to make and identify successes that we can share across our academies.

Your data will be held securely and will be anonymous, although we will ask for the school and year group your child is in on each survey.

If you would like to help, please click on the link below and complete the form to register your interest.

Thank you.

Sumdog Launch

Date: 10th Feb 2022 @ 1:05pm

Sumdog LG.jpg

Everyone at Northmoor Academy is delighted that all our children have now got access to Sumdog. It is an exciting and innovative piece of maths software that adapts itself to the child’s answers, increasing challenge when they are ready.

Your child has received their login from their class teacher and can access Sumdog immediately.

Did you know, that just 30 minutes each week increases your child’s maths fluency (being able to recall maths facts without thinking)? The questions all take the form of games and the children have loved earning coins and playing the games in their introduction to Sumdog. You can read more about the benefits of Sumdog here   or better still, ask your child to show you how it works.

Your child can log on to their account here

Update - Bubble Closure - Ruby Class - 30.11.2020

Date: 30th Nov 2020 @ 11:29am

30th November 2020

Dear Parents and Carers,

Confirmed case of Covid19 at Northmoor Academy Ruby Class

I am writing to let you know that member of our Ruby bubble has tested positive for Covid-19. The academy is working closely with Oldham’s Public Health Team to reduce the risk of infection for your children and our staff.

This means that we have had to close the Ruby Class bubble for 14 days from today. Your child must now self-isolate for 14 days. This means they must stay at home until Monday 14th December. Assuming they do not show symptoms in this time or test positive themselves, they may return to school on Monday 14th December.

Only children in Ruby Class need to isolate. You may send brothers and sisters to school as usual.

It is important that we are all aware of the symptoms of Covid19 and only well child attend school or childcare settings.

The main symptoms of coronavirus are:

• high temperature

• new, continuous cough –this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours

• loss or change to your sense of smell or taste –this means you've noticed you cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal.

I know that some parents will feel worried. Please try not to worry. For most people Covid19 is a mild illness.

If your child or any member of the household develops any of these symptoms then you should arrange to be tested. You can do this by searching ‘Book a coronavirus test online’ or by calling 119.

If you have taken a test, then your household should stay at home until the result is received. If anyone in the household receives a positive result, then the whole family must stay at home and self-isolate. If all members are negative, then your child may return to school as long as you have not been told to isolate by the Test and Trace Service.

Should you have any questions or need any help please contact school using info@northmoor.theharmonytrust.org

Many Thanks for your understanding and support at this difficult time.
