Year 6 - Onyx and Aquamarine Classes 2024 - 2025

Welcome to Year 6

Our Teachers

This year, the staff in Y6 are:

• Onyx Class - Mr Bramah 
• Aquamarine Class - Mr Rahman

Our Year 6 teachers are supported by Mrs Clanachan and Miss Islam.

iPads and Online Learning 

All children should bring their iPad to school with them each day, ready to use. In addition, all children have a login to several websites which are used for completing school work and homework. To keep children safe online, they have been taught to keep their usernames and passwords safe from others. The websites used in Year 6 are below and can be accessed by clicking on the logos.

KS2 SATS

In May, most children will take the national statutory assessments. Your child's teacher will keep you updated on your child's progress and how you can support them.

Homework

Spelling homework is given out on Tuesday, due for the following Tuesday.
Maths homework is given out on Friday, due for the following Monday.

Reading Champions 

Your child will be bringing their reading book home in their book bag every night. Please read with them as often as you can. It would be extremely beneficial for all children in Year 6 to read at home every day. By doing this, and completing their Accelerated Reader quizzes, they will become a ‘Reading Champion’ and will work towards a termly reward along with all of the other Reading Champions across Northmoor Academy!

PE and Games

PE Kits will be needed on the following days:

• Onyx Class = Tuesday and Thursday
• Aquamarine Class = Monday and Wednesday
