Autumn term in the Nursery!

Date: 11th Nov 2025 @ 4:28pm

The children have all settled in wonderfully at nursery, quickly becoming comfortable in their new environment. They've enjoyed exploring the different areas, engaging with the activities, and discovering new things each day. Most notably, they've started making new friends and building connections with their peers, showing confidence and enthusiasm as they interact and play together. It's been a joy to see them grow and feel at home in their nursery setting.

Curriculum week - Uniquely me!

Date: 11th Nov 2025 @ 4:01pm

Year 6 had a fabulous time last week during our curriculum week. The week explored aspects of what makes us all unique, different and the vibrant, colourful community that we are here at Northmoor.

Tuesday afternoon - We took part in a Maths activity where we collated data about the different languages that are spoken within our classes. From this, we created bar charts and interrogated this using our own questions.

Wednesday afternoon - We worked in pairs to complete a drama activity where one of us was the interviewer and the other person was the interviewee. We asked each other questions about their culture, home life, hobbies and personality traits and then swapped over.

Thursday afternoon - This was a very exciting afternoon where our parents came in to take part in a creative activity. We explored family crests and how these have been used both past and present. We looked at symbols to represent and created our own crests.

Friday afternoon - Finally, the wrote our own poems to describe ourselves using the information we'd learnt and discovered throughout the week!

Please keep an eye on on school spider/emails for our next events when parent can attend - it would be lovely to see as many parents as possible!

Owl visit

Date: 24th Nov 2024 @ 4:42pm

Reception class has had a special visitor  - an owl!  The children were so excited to see the owl up close.  It was a beautiful bird with big, round eyes and soft, brown and white feathers.  The owl’s handler told the children about where owls live, what they like to eat, and how they hunt for food at night using their sharp eyesight.  The owl even spread its wings, and everyone was amazed at how wide they were.  The children learned that owls can fly very quietly, which helps them catch their prey.  It was such a fun and interesting visit, and everyone got to ask questions and learn lots of new facts about owls!
