Welcome to Year 3
Our Teachers
This year, the staff in Y3 are:
- Garnet Class - Mr Johnstone
- Coral Class - Mr Price
Our Year 3 teachers are supported in class by Mrs Begum.
Reading Champions
Your child will be bringing their reading book home in their book bag every night. Please read with them as often as you can. If your child reads at least 3 times a week, they will earn a ‘Reading Champion’ sticker and will work towards a termly reward with Mrs Coleman with all of the Reading Champions across Northmoor Academy!
Homework
Spelling homework for the week will be shared on a Monday and needs to be returned the following Monday morning ready for our spelling test!
Homework will also be distributed by Purple Mash throughout the week for children to access and will need to be completed on for the following Monday morning.
Online Learning
All children have a login to Purple Mash, TT Rockstars, SumDog, Accelerated Reader and mYON. To keep children safe online they have been taught to keep their passwords and logins safe from others.

PE and Games
Children should bring their PE Kits to school on the following days:
- Garnet Class = Tuesday and Thursday
- Coral Class = Tuesday and Thursday
Swimming
Coral class will be attending swimming classes at Oldham Leisure Centre on Thursdays for the last half of the year.
Garnet class will have Outdoor PE lessons on Thursdays until the end of the year.
Please ensure your child comes to school with their full swimming kit when it is required.
